Safari & Night Stay Guidelines – Corbett Park India

1-Safari (Day Visit) – Terms & Visitor Guidelines

A. Entry & Visitor Conduct
  • Mobile phones are not allowed during safari
  • Visitors must report at the designated entry gate at least 45 minutes before the scheduled gate opening time. Late arrivals may be denied entry without any refund or adjustment.
  • Entry into Corbett Tiger Reserve is permitted only through CTR-authorised vehicles and in accordance with the approved tourism routes.
  • Every visitor must remain accompanied by a registered Nature Guide or Naturalist throughout the visit.
  • Visitors are required to remain on the designated tourism routes and trails at all times.
  • Walking outside authorised areas, disturbing wildlife, chasing animals, or attempting to feed them is strictly prohibited. Violations may attract legal action under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, including Section 38J.
  • Alcohol, non-vegetarian food, firearms, pets, and unauthorised vehicles are strictly prohibited inside the reserve.
  • Smoking, lighting fires, playing loud music, unnecessary horn blowing, and over-speeding are prohibited within the protected area.
  • Audio devices may only be used with headphones to maintain the tranquillity of the forest.
  • The reserve follows a strict "Carry In – Carry Out" policy. Visitors must remove all non-biodegradable waste from the park.
  • Cooking is permitted only at locations specifically authorised by the Forest Department.
  • Day visits to the Dhikala Tourism Zone are permitted only through officially conducted tours.
  • Visitors shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and other regulations issued by the Forest Department.
  • Entry into Corbett Tiger Reserve is entirely at the visitor's own risk. The Forest Department shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, accident, injury, or expenses arising during the visit.
B. Reservation & Permit Conditions
  • All bookings remain provisional until finally approved and may be modified or cancelled by the Field Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve.
  • Safari permits are issued exclusively in the names of the registered visitors and are non-transferable. Name changes or substitutions are not permitted after issuance.
  • If the permit holder fails to arrive for the scheduled visit, the booking shall be treated as a No-Show, and no refund or rescheduling will be allowed.
  • Visitors are responsible for providing complete and accurate personal information at the time of booking. Incorrect, incomplete, false, or abbreviated details may result in immediate cancellation of the permit and refusal of entry.
  • Foreign nationals must correctly declare their nationality while making the reservation.
  • Every visitor must carry the original valid government-issued photo identification (such as Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card, etc.) for verification at the entry gate.
  • Any forged, altered, or tampered permit shall be treated as a serious offence and may result in prosecution, fines, imprisonment, and permanent denial of entry.

2. Night Stay – Terms & Visitor Guidelines

A. Stay & Entry Regulations

  • Entry is allowed only through CTR-authorised vehicles operating on approved tourism routes.
  • Guests must remain accompanied by a registered Nature Guide or Naturalist during their stay wherever required under Forest Department regulations.
  • Walking or trekking inside the reserve is prohibited except on officially designated Nature Trails.
  • Driving beyond the authorised tourism routes or after permitted timings is strictly prohibited.
  • Consumption or possession of alcohol, non-vegetarian food, narcotic substances, or psychotropic substances is prohibited within the reserve.
  • Smoking outside designated residential complexes, lighting fires, excessive speeding, unnecessary horn blowing, and playing audio equipment without headphones are prohibited.
  • Cooking is not permitted at Dhikala and Bijrani Tourist Complexes. Limited cooking may be allowed only at selected Forest Rest Houses, subject to Forest Department rules.
  • Corbett Tiger Reserve is a litter-free protected area. Guests must ensure that all non-biodegradable waste is carried back outside the reserve.
  • Firearms, pets, and unauthorised vehicles are strictly prohibited.
  • Wildlife must not be disturbed, teased, chased, or fed under any circumstances. Gypsy drivers and Nature Guides share responsibility for preventing such behaviour. Violations may invite legal proceedings under Section 38J of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
  • Accommodation must be occupied on the first scheduled day of the reservation. Failure to report may result in automatic cancellation of the booking.
  • Occupancy of Forest Rest Houses shall remain subject to the prescribed accommodation limits and Forest Department regulations.
  • All visitors are governed by the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and all applicable rules, notifications, and directions issued by Corbett Tiger Reserve.
  • By entering Corbett Tiger Reserve, guests acknowledge that they do so entirely at their own risk and accept responsibility for any personal injury, property loss, damage, or associated expenses arising during their visit.
B. Reservation & Permit Conditions
  • Every reservation is provisional and remains subject to approval, modification, or cancellation by the Field Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve.
  • Forest Rest House permits are issued only in the names of the registered guests and are strictly non-transferable. Changes in visitor names after permit issuance are not permitted.
  • Failure of the registered guest(s) to arrive for the booked stay shall be treated as a No-Show, and no refund or cancellation benefit shall be available.
  • Applicants must provide complete and accurate booking information. Any false, incomplete, misleading, or abbreviated information may lead to cancellation of the reservation and denial of entry.
  • Foreign nationals must declare their nationality correctly while making the reservation.
  • Original government-issued photo identification must be produced for verification at the entry gate whenever requested by authorised officials.
  • Submission or use of forged, altered, or manipulated permits is a punishable offence and may result in legal action, fines, imprisonment, and cancellation of the booking.
  • Forest Rest House reservations are generally limited to a maximum of three consecutive nights. Fresh bookings can normally be made only after 15 days from the checkout date, subject to prevailing Forest Department rules.
  • Reservations made under the Foreigner Quota require the foreign guest to be part of the travelling group and present during the stay.
