Canter Safari Pricing & Concession Policies

1. Standard Tariff Breakdown
  • Indian Nationals: Rs. 2,500 + 5% GST per person= Rs.2625
  • Foreign Nationals: Rs. 4,500 + 5% GST per person= Rs.4725
2. Booking Windows & Child Seat Policies
  • Maximum Group Limit: The online portal allows a maximum of 4 individuals to be booked together in a single transaction.
  • Individual Seat Allocation: All seats must be purchased individually.
  • Child Policy: Children under 12 years of age are not automatically allocated a separate seat under a standard permit. To secure an independent seat for a child under 12, a separate adult ticket/seat must be purchased.
3. Official Tariff Concessions (Indian Nationals Only)
  • Senior Citizen Concession: Indian nationals identified as senior citizens are entitled to a discount of Rs. 750 per person, subject to the presentation of valid government age proof.
  • Student Concession: Indian national students aged between 12 and 18 years are eligible for a concession of Rs. 1,125 per person, provided a valid institutional student ID card is produced.
4. Critical Nationality & Group Billing Rules
  • OCI & SAARC Privileges: Nationals possessing an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, or citizens belonging to SAARC nations, will be charged in accordance with the standard rates applicable to Indian nationals.
  • Mixed-Group Foreign Tariff Clause: Please note that if a booking request or permit contains any foreign national, the official government booking system automatically applies the Foreign National Tariff to all passengers within that entire booking group. Mismatched groupings cannot be split into separate rates on a single permit.

1. Operational Seasons, Timings, & Logistics

  • Fixed Operational Window & Seasonal Closures: The Dhikala zone is open strictly from November 15th to June 15th each year. It remains completely closed to the public from June 15th to November 14th due to two critical factors:
    • June 15th – September 30th: Total closure due to heavy monsoon risks.
    • October 1st – November 15th: Total closure for mandatory forest road reconstruction and maintenance required to clear massive silt deposits caused by monsoon flooding.
  • Safari Duration & Rest House Stops: * Morning Safari: Departs around 6:00 AM and returns to Ramnagar by approximately 11:00 AM (approx. 5-hour duration). Includes a designated rest stop at the Dhikala Forest Rest House, where guests can purchase breakfast at the canteen.
    • Afternoon Safari: Departs around 12:30 PM and returns by approximately 5:30 PM.
  • Boarding Points & Strict No-Waiting Policy: The primary boarding and termination point is Ramnagar city. The vehicle then moves to the main Dhangari Gate entry point, where it halts for approximately 30 minutes to board guests staying near the gate before entering the zone. The Canter functions on rigid government-mandated transit schedules. If you are late to your designated boarding point, the vehicle will depart promptly without you. No refunds, adjustments, or alternative transport can be provided for missed departures.

2. Official Permits, Bookings, & Identity Verification

  • High-Demand Real-Time Allocation: Dhikala is a highly sensitive and world-famous tourism zone. Permits open strictly 45 days in advance on the official Corbett Tiger Reserve website and frequently sell out instantly upon release. Permits are allocated entirely based on real-time government availability.
  • Strict Non-Refundable Policy: Once a safari permit is officially generated by the forest department portal, it is 100% non-refundable, non-transferable, and entirely unamendable. No changes to dates, guest names, or times can be processed under any circumstances.
  • Physical Identity Verification: Guests must provide valid government-approved ID details (Aadhar, Voter ID, Passport, etc.) at the time of booking. You must carry the exact same physical ID card with you during the safari. Digital copies or mismatched identification will result in immediate denial of entry by park authorities without refund.

3. Vehicle Dynamics, Seating, & Route Limitations

  • Vehicle Architecture & Seat Sharing: Canter safaris are operated on a collective, seat-sharing basis in a 16-seater open bus featuring a fixed 2×2 row layout (offering either a window or an aisle seat). The vehicle is open from all sides with a top canopy to protect against rain or direct sunlight. The Indian Voyage has no control over the co-passengers assigned to your vehicle or the specific seat numbering/placement inside the Canter. Seats are booked sequentially by row on the government portal; random custom seating selections cannot be made.

     

Restricted Safari Routes: Due to the physical size, maneuvering constraints, and strict timing limitations of a 16-seater bus, Canter safaris primarily cover the main transit road and designated grassland areas of the Dhikala zone. The Canter does not and cannot access specific interior tracks such as Paar Road, Champion Road, or Kamar Patta Road.

4. Strict Park Rules & Legal Codes of Conduct

  • Mobile Phone Ban: In compliance with strict Supreme Court directives, the use of mobile phones is entirely prohibited within the core tourism zones of the tiger reserve.
  • Prohibition on Dismounting: Stepping out or getting down from the Canter vehicle inside the national park boundaries is strictly illegal, constitutes a severe safety hazard, and is subject to immediate legal penalties by forest rangers.
  • Forbidden Contraband: Carrying firearms, lighting campfires, smoking, consuming alcohol, and bringing non-vegetarian food products inside the tiger reserve are strictly forbidden by law.
  • Dress Code & Sensitivities: Guests are highly encouraged to wear earthy, dull colors (such as khaki, olive green, or brown) to seamlessly blend into the natural environment. Bright, neon clothing and heavy perfumes/colognes must be strictly avoided.

5. Indicative Pricing & Final Confirmation Guarantees

  • Price Variances: All safari charges displayed are strictly indicative facilitation fees and are subject to change without notice. Final pricing varies based on visitor nationality (Indian Nationals vs. Foreign Nationals), government permit fee revisions, transport union tariff updates, applicable taxes, and seasonal peak demands.
  • Booking Requests vs. Final Confirmation: The submission of an inquiry, booking request, or payment deposit to The Indian Voyage does not constitute a guaranteed booking. A safari is only considered finalized once the official government permit is successfully generated and explicitly confirmed with you in writing.

6. Scope of Services & Operational Liability Limitations

  • Reservation Facilitation Only: Please note that The Indian Voyage (a unit of Green View Voyage Private Limited) acts strictly as a booking assistance and reservation facilitation service. We do not issue safari permits directly.
  • Independent Operator Status: We are an independent, private tour operator. We do not own, manage, or officially operate the Canter vehicles or the official safari permit portal of the Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Operational Disclaimer & Exclusions: The Indian Voyage (a unit of Green View Voyage Private Limited) is a private tour operator whose services are strictly limited to assisting with and facilitating your safari permit booking. Beyond the provisioning of the permit, The Indian Voyage has absolutely no operational control over, nor liability for, the mechanical quality of the Canter vehicle, seat cushion/comfort quality, the specific physical location or layout of your assigned seats, the expertise of the assigned forest department naturalist/guide, or the behavior and professionalism of the canter driver. All such operational elements are managed entirely by the Corbett Tiger Reserve authorities and their contracted transport operators.

  • Always carry a trash bag during safari and do not litter in jungle
  • One can carry binoculars to explore colourful beauty of bird sear
  • Wear clothes with earthen or dull colors which are non provoking to wildlife
  • Keep silent and do not disturb wildlife. Understand the fact that it is their home and we are mere visitors in the forest.
  • Maintain good / safe distance from animals so that they are not disturbed and you can observe their natural behaviour.

  • Do not carry any fire arm or inflammable material during safari
  • Smoking or consuming liquor is offence during safari
  • Do not get down from jeeps or canter while inside national park
  • Movement of jeeps or canter is restricted on certain roads do not enter on those roads
  • Maintain good / safe distance from animals so that they are not disturbed and you can observe their natural behaviour.
  • Playing music, shouting, screaming is prohibited in forest
  • Do not wear clothes with provoking / bright colors
  • Do not wear perfumes during safaris as some animals have high sense of smell
